A12 Apartment on Korean architecture platform Masilground
7 Luglio 2026
A12 Apartment, DKA – Diele Kerciku Architetture’s residential project in Rome, has been published by Masilground, a Korean platform dedicated to architecture and the built environment.
The feature presents the project through a selection of photographs and drawings, highlighting the transformation of an existing apartment where the character of the original architecture is retained and reinterpreted through a contemporary spatial language.
Existing brick vaults, generous ceiling heights and the original sequence of rooms establish the framework for a series of carefully calibrated interventions. Colour, bespoke furniture and new openings become architectural tools, defining connections and visual relationships throughout the home without erasing its existing identity.
From the pale blue cabinetry and blue-framed openings to the more measured red accents, colour contributes to the spatial rhythm of the apartment, while materials, light and geometry establish a continuous dialogue between old and new.
The feature reflects on DKA’s approach to the transformation of existing residential spaces, where contemporary interventions establish a dialogue with the original architecture.
